(Faithful K9 Trainer wants to congratulate Oreo and his family for completing the training course for canine good citizen and this is what his family had to say). “We adopted our 9 month old puppy, Oreo, from KHS to be our family dog. Soon after, we started working with Faithful K9 Trainer to set a great foundation with Oreo. Our goal was to learn to train our energetic and deaf puppy with basic hand commands and leash skills, as well as things like not batting at our toddler or eating her toys! We are so thankful to Richie and Faithful K9 for teaching us how to train Oreo in such a positive and thorough way. I was amazed by what Richie taught Oreo in just a couple nights of boarding. Each week in our follow up trainings we saw huge improvements in the areas we were working on and learned so much ourselves each time. I loved how Richie had a training progression in mind, but also was very in the moment and attuned to Oreo and our needs for training during each session. Working with Faithful K9 was an excellent experience for all of us. Richie was highly knowledgeable, flexible with our schedule, very reasonably priced compared to other training programs in the area, and just fun to talk with and learn from. It is making our lives so much easier to have the tools to train our dog how we would like. Thank you, Richie!!-Travis and Anna Hixson”

Our mission

Positive Training

We are a no correction organization. We believe in positive reinforcement and use one of the drives to motivate the dogs to naturally do each learned command. We use markers to condition the noise (command) to mean the same thing as something naturally pleasing to the dog, like food yum! There are 4 stages of learning in operant conditioning.

Educating

We believe that no dog should suffer because of lack of knowledge. Here at Faithful K9 trainer we teach all dog owners that utilize our services to have a trainers mindset. So, it is a team effort to get the dogs to be that faithful K9 to us. Once we evaluate the owners knowledge they will also get a certificate of completion that makes them a faithfulk9trainer.

Staying connected

We are excited to be partnered with Faithful Fields LLC faithfulfields.charity an organization that is going to help all rescue organizations by housing and training their rescues to give them a chance to be rehomed and have a successful future with a happy home, whether its a service dog, emotional support animal, or a companion. We will give businesses or individuals a chance to sponsor any of the dogs to give them a chance to be a faithful K9. Please look into their website and see where you can help or if you know anyone in need of a service dog, emotional support animal or a good companion have them fill out the adoption application and see if we can match them with the right dog.

Our trained dogs do their homework

That’s me in the video training Ragusa, and you know when a dog is conditioned to the duration marker “good” (when she turns her head slightly to the word as she is watching herself in the video) this is why it is important to teach negative and positive marker words. This is a classical conditioning…

  1. I am so grateful for this team. I used them for my 17 week old standard poodle pup while I was in town for a conference. My pup loves going to daycare! It was his first experience and it was a win. Then I had them groom him. Oh my goodness! His coat is beautiful. The cut is exactly what I hoped for. This was a stressful week, our first trip together and my pup’s first daycare experience. Faithful Trainer made it easy. I may have imagined it, but it seemed my pup actually relaxed through the week and gained a few manners along the way. Last, this team is excellent with communication. I wanted to know what Grooming products they used and texted, expecting a reply days later( given that it was 8:30am on a Sunday) and they got back to me with pictures in just a short time. What a gift. Can’t wait until our next conference in tot area. We will be back!
